A step-by-step view of how rubber processing machinery is used across the tyre manufacturing process, from raw material preparation through to component production:

Step 1 — Raw Material Preparation

Natural rubber arrives in standard 33–35 kg bales. The Rubber Bale Cutter (MI-BCM) slices these into manageable sections before the compound line begins. Consistent cut size improves mastication quality and reduces mixing cycle time.

Step 2 — Tyre Compound Mixing

The Dispersion Kneader (MIKH Series) handles the primary compound mixing stage — combining rubber polymers with carbon black, silica, oils, and curatives in a closed chamber under controlled temperature. High-carbon-black tyre compounds require the intensive shear of an internal mixer for complete filler dispersion.

The Rubber Mixing Mill (M6–M8 AFB) completes the open-mill stage — final batching, additive incorporation, and compound sheeting before calendering or extrusion.

Step 3 — Tyre Cord Frictioning

The Calender Machine (MI-CL-18x54 or MI-CL-24x72, 4-roll Z-Type) forces rubber compound into the interstices of nylon, polyester, or steel cord fabric from both faces simultaneously in a single pass. This produces fully impregnated tyre cord ply — the structural backbone of every tyre.

Step 4 — Tread & Sidewall Extrusion

The tyre tread profile and sidewall strip are formed by the Hot Feed Extruder. Pre-warmed compound is fed into the extruder and forced through a shaped die — producing the precise cross-section profile required for tread or sidewall assembly. The inner tube is produced by a dedicated tube extruder.

Step 5 — Inner Tube Manufacturing

Inner tubes are extruded as a seamless rubber tube, cut to length, fitted with a valve, and vulcanised in a tube curing press. The Hydraulic Press (MI-HP Series) is used for tube vulcanising and for moulding smaller tyre rubber components.
